Overview and Problem Statement

Many online news outlets and blogs offer the opportunity to write comments on a given story. Often times, these comments are only displayed at the end of the text, where it is difficult to make the relation to the content they are referencing. In some cases this context might also be necessary to better understand the comment itself, or provide clues about why a given comment was written in the first place.

The aim of this project is to provide a system that makes discussions are more central piece of online news reporting by identifying what comments relate to, and visualizing which parts of the text have received particular attention.
